Hillary Clinton to stump for Crist in Florida
Hillary Clinton will campaign next month for Charlie Crist, Florida’s Democratic nominee for governor.
Clinton will attend a “dinner reception” for Crist on Oct. 2 in Miami, according to an invitation posted on Crist campaign chairman Bob Poe’s Facebook page.
{mosads}Clinton is beginning to step up her campaigning for 2014 Democratic candidates. Her return to the campaign trail comes as she weighs her own possible presidential bid for the 2016 Democratic nomination.
She made a high-profile return to Iowa, home of the first presidential nominating contest, earlier this month, and touted the need to elect Democrats in 2014.
She also focused on Democratic women candidates at a Democratic National Committee event last week.
The Florida event puts her in a crucial presidential swing state.
Crist, a former governor of Florida, used to be a Republican, but switched to being independent in 2010 and then became a Democrat in 2012. He is locked in a tight battle with Republican incumbent Gov. Rick Scott.
Former President Bill Clinton has already campaigned for Crist earlier this month.
Hillary Clinton is combining the Crist dinner with a signing for her book Hard Choices, in Coral Gables, Fla., the same day.
