Huckabee: Did Hillary break the law?

DES MOINES, Iowa — Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) says the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a personal email to conduct official business as secretary of State should be investigated to determine whether she broke the law.

{mosads}“The problem with that is did she violate not only the protocol of the State Department and the administration, but the bigger question is, was that in violation of the law?,” Huckabee said in response to a question from The Hill at the Iowa Ag Summit in Des Moines on Saturday.

Huckabee also urged reporters to continue digging into the millions in foreign contributions the Clinton Foundation has received to determine whether the money has inappropriately influenced her policy decisions while she was at the State Department.

“I think it’s very important for everyone to understand, and one I hope [reporters] will ask a lot of questions about, if there’s a connection between the policy she presents and the money she received or that the Clinton Foundation received,” Huckabee said. “That could be real problematic for her and her campaigns.”

Huckabee and several other likely Republican presidential contenders are in Des Moines this weekend for the first-ever Iowa Ag Summit. The potential candidates are taking the stage one after another to be grilled by agribusiness mogul and influential conservative donor Bruce Rastetter on the policy issues that are important to the state’s business-minded rural conservatives.

Huckabee, who is gearing up for a run for president, will meet with supporters in Altoona later today. Huckabee won the Iowa caucuses in 2008.
