Trump repeatedly interrupted at campaign event in Tampa

Donald Trump was repeatedly interrupted by demonstrators at a Monday campaign event in Tampa, Fla., held one day before the state’s primary.

Days after canceling a Chicago event due to protesters, Trump initially took a softer tone, saying “don’t hurt her” as one protester was taken away from the event.

{mosads}After he was interrupted again, Trump questioned whether the protester should be prosecuted, but then dialed back his rhetoric.

“I didn’t know this happened in Tampa,” Trump said. “They’ll go home to their moms soon.

“I don’t want to ruin someone’s life, but do we prosecute someone like that?” he continued. “It’s on their card forever. It seems harsh, but we’re trying to be nice.”

Trump also took a few shots at Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), who trails the front-runner badly in his home state.

Trump said he’d refrain from calling him “Little Marco” but criticized the senator over his stance on immigration and his record of Senate attendance.

“When you’re in the Senate, you have to go vote in the Senate,” Trump said. “I don’t know where he is, but he’s never there.”

Trump also took aim at Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who hopes to defeat Trump in Ohio’s primary on Tuesday.

“We’ll see what happens with Kasich. I’m doing well with Kasich,” Trump said. “If you remember, I really hit him hard first debate. I hit him so hard, he never came back at me.”

Prior to Trump taking the stage, Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi endorsed Trump.

“I ran as an outsider as attorney general. I felt Florida needed to be changed, and now our country and our world — we need someone who’s going to protect our security like never before,” Bondi said.
