Commerce secretary spoiled Treasury secretary’s secret wedding: report
Treasury Secretary Steven Mnunchin’s secret marriage plans were spoiled this week thanks to a fellow Cabinet secretary, The New York Times reported Friday.
Mnuchin’s plans to marry Scottish actress Louise Linton on Saturday were publicized this week by Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, who the Times describes as a frequent dining companion of the couple.
During a conference this week in Washington, D.C., Ross presented Mnuchin in a revealing introduction when he said we “extend our congratulations and look forward to seeing you wed your dear fiancee, Louise Linton, on Saturday.”
Mnuchin, 54, has been engaged to Linton since 2015. This is his third marriage, and Linton’s first.
{mosads}In an email to the Times, Linton confirmed the time but not the venue, writing, “Wedding Venue is historical building in D.C.” She cited security concerns for not being specific.
Mnuchin and Linton have a Hollywood connection. Before joining the Trump administration, Mnuchin was involved in producing films, and recently Linton was forced to step down as chief executive of Dune Entertainment, one of Mnuchin’s companies, after Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) raised concerns over a possible conflict of interest.
