Cruz wins Utah caucuses
Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz won the Utah caucuses.
The Associated Press early Wednesday called the race for Cruz, who took 69.2 percent of the vote. John Kasich had 16.9 percent and Donald Trump had 14 percent with 85.4 percent of the votes counted.
Cruz was the heavy favorite to win in Utah entering Tuesday. He had some of the state’s highest-profile Republicans — including 2012 GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney, Sen. Mike Lee and Gov. Gary Herbert — campaigning on his behalf.
