Clinton: Memoir about ‘hard choices’
Hillary Clinton is hinting that her upcoming memoir, Hard Choices, will lay out what could be the rationale for her probable presidential run in 2016.
{mosads}In a video previewing the memoir, Clinton says that countries, like people, face “hard choices” that affect their development and are “at the core of what kind of people we want to be and what kind of countries we want to have.”
“And I think that’s especially true here in our own country, here at this moment in our history, because I do talk about some of the hard choices we face as Americans” in the book, she says.
Clinton is widely believed to be gearing up for a presidential run, and the launch of her memoir on June 10, and subsequent book tour, will fuel speculation about her plans.
She said the book will also include some “behind-the-scenes insight,” including details on her relationship with President Obama and the White House and “my views about what we needed to do to restore American leadership.”
Clinton said that people reading her book will see it’s possible “to restore prosperity here at home.”
“But they will recognize it doesn’t happen by accident or wishing for it or engaging in ideological and rhetorical battles, it happens because people come together and make a series of choices, including some hard choices, to establish the foundation for a strong economy, a strong united society, because at the end of the day we’re only as strong abroad as we are at home,” she said.
