Dean: Hillary email answers too lawyerly

Howard Dean, the former chairman of the Democratic National Committee, said Sunday that Hillary Clinton’s response to her email issues had been too “lawyerly.”

“One of the problems is that Hillary Clinton is an incredibly smart lawyer,” Dean, the former Vermont governor and a Clinton supporter, said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

{mosads}“You’ve got to think about this in plain language,” Dean added. “And maybe that’s what she needs to do.”

Still, Dean maintained that there’s no substance to the questions surrounding Clinton’s use of a private email server during her tenure as secretary of State and said there’s no opening for Vice President Biden in the Democratic field for 2016.

Clinton has faced questions about whether she handled classified material on her private email server.

“I did not send classified material, and I did not receive any material that was marked or designated classified,” Clinton said last week.
