Trump ads knock Obama as ‘out of touch’
Donald Trump bashes President Obama as “out of touch” and having “no strategy” against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in a new radio ad airing in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina as a response to the terrorist attacks in Paris.
He criticizes Obama for remarking that ISIS had been contained in an interview with ABC News that aired the morning of the attacks.
{mosads}”The tragic attacks in Paris prove once again that America needs to get tough on radical Islamic terrorism,” he says in the radio ad.
“Just hours before the attacks in Paris, President Obama said ISIS has been contained. It’s amazing that the United States can have a president that is so out of touch, but it’s also dangerous.”
He goes on to warn against Obama’s plan to “let hundreds of thousands of refugees from Syria into the United States.”
But that’s a far cry from the number the administration has pledged to take in. Secretary of State John Kerry said in late September that the administration plans to accept 85,000 refugees worldwide in 2016 and 100,000 in 2017, according to The Associated Press. And the administration has remained firm in its decision to take in 10,000 Syrian refugees despite concerns that they could be a security risk.
The ad ends with Trump reiterating his plan to “quickly and decisively bomb the hell out of ISIS.”
The campaign released that and three other spots as part of a $300,000 buy. One ad is tailored at New Hampshire and two at Iowa, which all talk up Trump’s outsider leanings.
