Obama spokesman takes a dig at Trump’s medical report

President Obama’s top spokesman isn’t buying Donald Trump’s medical report declaring the GOP front-runner would be the healthiest person ever elected president.

{mosads}“Is the suggestion that Mr. Trump’s doctor conducted a thorough medical examination of President Jefferson and President Adams?” Josh Earnest replied when asked Monday if Trump is healthier than Obama.

“That’s a lot of work — that’s a lot of homework to do,” he added. “Forty-four presidents to take a look at.”

Earnest offered up a generous dose of sarcasm when asked if the billionaire real estate mogul’s doctor deserves to be fact checked.

“From here, I would not call into question the medical credentials of somebody who decides they are ready to conduct a medical examination of Mr. Trump,” the spokesman said. “That must have been a pretty interesting appointment.”

Trump’s glowing medical report raised eyebrows when it was released Monday afternoon.

Dr. Harold Bornstein, who has been Trump’s physician since 1980, said the billionaire real estate tycoon has had “no significant medical problems” over the past four decades. Bornstein said that Trump has lost 15 pounds in the past year, has never had cancer or had hip, knee or shoulder replacements and “has no history of ever using alcohol or tobacco products.”

“If elected, Mr. Trump, I can state unequivocally, will be the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency,” Bornstein said in the report released by the Trump campaign.

Obama was declared to be in “excellent” health after a physical exam last year.

“The president continues to focus on healthy lifestyle choices,” said Dr. Ronny Jackson, the president’s physician. “He eats a healthy diet, exercises daily, remains tobacco free, and only drinks alcohol occasionally and in moderation.”
