Paul marks Festivus with airing of grievances against 2016 field

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) on Wednesday celebrated Festivus by attacking his political opponents and issuing a report on government waste.

On the fake holiday invented by “Seinfeld” character Frank Costanza, when one airs any grievances against those who have been disappointments, Paul hit Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), a fellow 2016 GOP presidential candidate, for missing key votes in the Senate.

Paul also slammed GOP front-runner Donald Trump, who has made trade imbalance with China a key talking point, for manufacturing his line of ties in China.

The Kentucky lawmaker compared Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), a self-proclaimed democratic socialist, to Santa Claus — minus the magic.

Paul also said he had no grievances to air against soft-spoken Ben Carson, because he cannot hear him.

He also took a dig at Democratic primary front-runner Hillary Clinton, noting that Carly Fiorina did not have trouble making it back from commercial breaks at the debates.

Paul early Wednesday issued a report on government waste, pointing to ways in which the federal government has found “new and inventive ways to waste the tax dollars of hard-working Americans this year.”
