Republican presidential hopeful John Kasich will not be in South Carolina for the state’s Feb. 20 GOP primary, according to the Boston Globe.

{mosads}Instead, he will hold a town hall in Worcester, Mass. and later attend a $2,700-per-person fundraiser in Boston’s Back Bay. The Massachusetts primary will be held on March 1.

Kasich previously said he was not expecting to win the Palmetto State’s first-in-the-South primary.

But he’s spent every day this week campaigning there, trying to build on the momentum of a strong second-place showing in the New Hampshire primary last week.

Polls show Kasich competing for fourth place with former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, behind front-runner Donald Trump and Sens. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and Ted Cruz (R-Texas).
