Wasserman Schultz: Trump is the most ‘misogynistic candidate in modern times’

Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz on Sunday blamed the Republican Party for the rise of its front-runner Donald Trump, calling him the most “misogynistic candidate in modern times.”

{mosads}“This is an unprecedented political campaign for president, I’ve never seen anything like it,” she said in a radio interview with John Catsimatidis. “We have a race unfolding on the other side that has been complete and utter chaos. You know, the Republicans have been criticizing Donald Trump and some suggesting he hijacked their party.”

“Look, they made this bed, they’ve been willingly allowing the Tea Party extremists to take over their party, and so they have only themselves to blame with the likelihood of having a presumptive nominee like Donald Trump, who is the most extreme and vile, misogynistic candidate in modern times.”

Wasserman Schultz also said that Trump’s opponents, John Kasich and Ted Cruz, have no shot at the nomination other than the party resorting to chaos at their convention, making the Democrats much more appealing the general election.

“Look if the Republicans go to the convention in Cleveland and have the chaos that we’re expecting, you know the next week when we have a very clear and focused message that talks about how we want to help people reach the middle class, the contrast couldn’t be more clear and I think it will result in our nominee being elected president,” she said.
