Cruz: ‘Obama-Clinton foreign policy’ a ‘manifest disaster’
Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz on Sunday slammed President Obama’s administration over its foreign policy.
“The Obama-Clinton foreign policy is a manifest disaster,” he said on “Fox News Sunday.” “Every single region on Earth has gotten worse … and we’ve shown weakness and appeasement to our enemies.
{mosads}”Obama and Hilary seem more mad at me than they are at ISIS, than they are at the terrorists who are murdering us,” he said, referring to the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.
Cruz last week called for patrolling and securing Muslim neighborhoods in the wake of the terror attacks on Brussels. Obama went after Cruz for his call, talking about Cruz’s Cuban heritage and arguing that he is ignoring the journey of his father, who fled Cuba to escape political oppression.
Cruz on Sunday slammed Obama for a policy of “weakness and appeasement.”
“This policy of weakness and appeasement doesn’t work,” he said. “I think the American people are tired of it.”
“For seven years, President Obama and Hillary Clinton and this administration have been so bound up by political correctness, they’ve refused to acknowledge what it is we’re fighting,” he said.
He added that they refuse to say the words “radical Islamic terrorism.”
“Enough is enough,” he said. “We need a commander in chief who will keep this country safe.”
One of the consequences of the political correctness, Cruz said, is that the administration embraces policies that “make no sense.”
“We need a commander in chief that is focused on defeating radical Islamic terrorism, utterly destroying ISIS and on keeping America safe,” he said.
“If I’m president, we will utterly and completely destroy ISIS.”
