Poll: Sanders closes gap nationally
Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is closing the gap with the party’s front-runner Hillary Clinton, a new national poll released on Tuesday finds.
The NBC News/SurveyMonkey online tracking poll found that Clinton leads Sanders by 6 points, 49 percent to 43 percent, following the Vermont senator’s trio of victories over the weekend.
Last week, the former secretary of State held a 12-point lead over Sanders, 53 percent to 41 percent.
The poll also found that Sanders now performs better with male voters. The senator leads Clinton among men by 2 points. Last week, she led Sanders among that section of the electorate by 6 points.
The poll was conducted March 21–27 and surveyed 6,521 adults, including 5,741 who say they’re registered voters, via online.
