Paul has maintained that he won’t endorse during the primary season after dropping out of the bitter GOP race on Feb. 3.
{mosads}A spokesman told The Hill on Wednesday that Paul still planned to wait until after the primary season to endorse, despite a narrowing Republican field.
The spokesman said Paul stands by his previous pledge to support the eventual GOP nominee, including Donald Trump or Sen. Ted Cruz (Texas), the current front-runners.
The Hill has reached out for comment on the pending endorsement announcement.
Paul ended his campaign amid lagging support after a poor showing in the Iowa caucuses in early February. The race his since seen a renewed focus on terrorism and more hawkish foreign policy debate.
His father, Ron Paul, who ran for president in 2012, said Thursday on CNN that if the general election is between Trump and Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, he’d opt for “none of the above.”
