Trump: Colorado ‘rigged’ for Cruz win

Donald Trump on Monday blasted Ted Cruz’s delegate haul in Colorado, arguing that the GOP presidential convention there ignored voters.

“The people out there are going crazy,” he said on “Fox & Friends.” “The people out in Colorado are going nuts.

{mosads}“They weren’t given a vote,” the Republican presidential front-runner said. “It’s a crooked deal. The system is rigged, crooked. That’s not the way democracy is supposed to work.”

Cruz swept Colorado’s GOP convention last Saturday, netting all 13 of the state’s at-large delegates.

He also claimed all 21 delegates awarded in congressional district conventions there last week.

Trump on Monday ripped the Republican presidential primary process, arguing that it allows contenders like Cruz a chance despite the will of voters.

“I’ve got millions more votes — millions, not just a couple — more votes than Cruz,” he said. “I’ve got hundreds of delegates more.”

“We keep fighting, fighting, fighting and then you have a Colorado, frankly, where they just get all of these delegates,” Trump added. “It’s not a system.

“I’m an outsider. I’m somebody coming in to make America great again. This is a political hack deal. This is what our country’s all about, I guess.”

Trump leads Cruz by roughly 7 points nationwide, according to the latest RealClearPolitics average of polls. He also has 743 delegates to Cruz’s 545, giving Trump the edge on the 1,237 needed for claiming the GOP presidential nomination.
