Trump: ‘I should’ revoke New York Times credentials

Donald Trump floated rescinding his permission for The New York Times to cover his presidential campaign’s events as he blasted the newspaper as “totally dishonest.”

{mosads}”The Washington Post has gotten a little bit better lately, I took away their press credentials,” he said to the crowd at a rally in Columbus, Ohio.

“I should do it with the Times, but the problem is you get more publicity from doing it — just let them ride.”

The Republican presidential nominee went on to chide the Times by predicting the paper will not be “in business more than two to three years.”

Trump has banned a variety of outlets from his events, including the Post and BuzzFeed News. A Post reporter said last week he was denied entry to an event through the general admission section and a security staffer said he couldn’t bring his phone in because he was from the Post.

During the rally, he also laid into CNN, which he called “Clinton News Network” and said he wouldn’t do more interviews on the network unless it treated him fairly. In contrast, he said, Fox News has been “tough” on him but “has at least been fair.”

In a tweet earlier Monday, Trump called CNN “the press shop for Hillary Clinton,” his Democratic rival for the White House.
