Utah poll: Clinton virtually tied with Trump
EDITOR’S NOTE: The Washington Post reported that KUTV’s story was not in fact based on a new poll. The Salt Lake Tribune told the Post there is no new poll and speculated that KUTV accidentally ran old poll data in a new story Monday.
Hillary Clinton has a slight lead over Donald Trump in deep-red Utah, according to a new poll.
Clinton has 36 percent support in the state to Trump’s 35 percent in a Hinckley Institute-Salt Lake Tribune poll, according to a report Monday from CBS affiliate KUTV.
{mosads}Utah has gone to the Republican nominee in each of the last 12 presidential elections, but polls have shown a close race this year.
Trump has faced pushback from Utah’s considerable Mormon population, and he’s been repeatedly criticized by Mitt Romney, the 2012 GOP presidential nominee and a Utah resident.
