Clinton raises nearly $90M for July
Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign says it took in nearly $90 million in July, giving her the best fundraising haul so far.
“We came out of the Democratic National Convention with our party united and our supporters energized for the final 98 days of this campaign,” campaign manager Robby Mook said in a statement Tuesday.
{mosads}“Our goal for the next 98 days is take the remarkable outpouring of support we saw as Hillary Clinton took the stage in Philadelphia and build on our efforts to organize and mobilize millions of voters to elect progressive candidates up and down the ballot in November.”
The Democratic presidential nominee’s campaign said it’s entering August with $58 million on hand. The average donation for July was $44, and 54 percent of its donations from last month came from new contributors.
The campaign said its best 24-hour online fundraising period came between 8 p.m. July 28 and 8 p.m. July 29 — during and immediately after Clinton’s formal acceptance of the Democratic presidential nomination at the convention in Philadelphia.
Her team raised more than $8.7 million during that window.
Clinton’s campaign said $63 million from July’s haul will directly benefit its operations, while $26 million will go to the Democratic National Committee and state parties nationwide.
