PAC ad compares Clinton to Nixon
A Republican super-PAC is comparing Hillary Clinton to former President Richard Nixon in a new ad that refers to her as a “secretive, paranoid politician” who destroyed evidence.
{mosads}The video was released by Future 45, a super-PAC founded by the Adelson and Ricketts families, both of them major GOP donors.
The clip, called “Crook,” tears into Clinton for her email scandal and accuses her of political favors for donors.
“At least Nixon was right about one thing,” the narrator says, before showing footage of Nixon saying “People have got to know whether or not their president is a crook.”
Future 45 is aiming to raise $25 million, according to CNN. The Ricketts family has donated $1 million, and the Adelsons are expected to pitch in $5 million.
The group has not wholeheartedly embraced GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump. But it reportedly is using anti-Clinton ads in Senate battleground states in an effort to help the GOP keep control of the chamber.
The group is running ads in Florida, Nevada, Ohio, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Iowa — all states where Republicans senators are facing challenges this fall — according to CNN. It’s not clear whether this ad will run in those states, or on television at all.
