Trump targets Clinton’s health in new ad

Donald Trump in a new campaign ad paints Hillary Clinton as unfit to protect the country, using footage of her stumbling into a van when she fell ill at a 9/11 memorial ceremony in New York.

{mosads}After listing crises in the world, the spot cuts to footage of Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee, falling while walking up stairs, coughing during her 11-hour testimony to the House Benghazi Committee, and stumbling as she was led into her van outside of the 9/11 event.

“Hillary Clinton failed every single time as secretary of State. Now she wants to be president,” a narrator says over the footage.

“Hillary Clinton doesn’t have the fortitude, strength or stamina to lead in our world. Don’t let her fail us again.”

Trump and his allies have long floated conspiracy theories about Clinton’s health, and the Republican presidential nominee recently mocked her for what the Clinton campaign said was dehydration while she was suffering from pneumonia. The Clinton campaign didn’t reveal she had pneumonia until after the 9/11 event — days after she had been diagnosed.

Trump has taken a no-holds-barred approach in the wake of a leaked 2005 video in which he talks about groping women without their consent.

He’s especially ratcheted up the attacks on Clinton, inviting three women to Sunday night’s presidential debate who accused her husband, former President Bill Clinton, of sexual harassment or assault. Hillary Clinton represented a fourth Trump guest’s alleged rapist while working as a lawyer.

And the ad comes hours after Trump tweeted on Tuesday, “It is so nice that the shackles have been taken off me and I can now fight for America the way I want to.”
