Battleground polling: Clinton leads in Pa., NC and Colo.
Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump in the crucial battleground states of Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Colorado, while the Republican presidential nominee leads his Democratic rival in Arizona, according to new polling.
{mosads}Clinton holds an 8-point lead in Pennsylvania, according to a CBS News Battleground tracker poll out Sunday morning, and has 3-point leads in North Carolina, 48 percent to 45 percent, and Colorado, 42 percent to 39 percent.
Trump is up by 2 points in Arizona, 44 percent to 42 percent.
Trump’s lack of support from members of his own party is especially hurting the GOP nominee in Pennsylvania, pollsters found. Only 78 percent of Republicans support Trump in the state, while 88 percent of Democrats support Clinton.
But the poll shows that Trump supporters are more enthusiastic than Clinton supporters.
In North Carolina, 56 percent of Trump supporters say they’re more enthusiastic than they’ve been before, while 26 percent say they are less so.
In Arizona, 54 percent of Trump supporters are more enthusiastic than in recent years, while 27 percent say they are less so.
But only 31 percent of Clinton supporters in North Carolina say they’re more enthusiastic than in past years, while 30 percent say they are less so.
In Colorado, just 26 percent of her supporters are more enthusiastic, outweighed by the 40 percent who are less so.
The CBS News poll was conducted on the internet Oct. 26–28 among 4,074 registered voters in Arizona, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Colorado.
