New Koch group ads hit Pryor on ObamaCare
Americans for Prosperity is launching another major ad salvo against Sen. Mark Pryor (D-Ark.), blaming him for ObamaCare backers’ failed promise that everyone can keep their insurance plan.
{mosads}The heavy-spending conservative group, backed by the Koch brothers, is spending $700,000 on the ad. The group has already dropped more than $30 million attacking Senate Democrats who are facing reelection.
“We received a letter from our insurance company. As of December of 2014 that we would no longer be covered by Blue Cross Blue Shield,” says a woman identified as Wanda from Marion, Ark., in the ad. “When somebody tells you ‘if you like it you can keep it,’ you believe them. But that’s not so in this case. You think that you’re going to be just one of those unlucky people. But then to find out that it’s happening to so many — and again, that’s why so many need to stick together, because there is strength in numbers.”
Pryor’s campaign fired back.
“Arkansans won’t be distracted from Congressman Cotton’s irresponsible votes against Medicare, student loans and equal pay for women, even by the Koch brothers spending their secret millions to reward Cotton’s recklessness that harms Arkansas families,” said Pryor spokesman Erik Dorey.
Pryor is facing Rep. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) in a hotly contested race.
