NRSC posts biggest fundraising month of election cycle
The National Republican Senatorial Committee raised $6.35 million in March, the group’s biggest fundraising month of the election cycle, National Republican Senatorial Committee Vice Chairman Rob Portman (R-Ohio) told his GOP colleagues Tuesday afternoon.
{mosads}The NRSC now has $15.87 million in the bank for the fall elections, a $3 million increase from what it had in the bank one month ago, and has no debt. The group raised $16.45 million for the quarter as it seeks to win back Senate control.
“Another record month shows that we are building momentum and that Republicans across the country are highly energized,” Portman said in a subsequent statement to reporters announcing the haul. “Thanks to the strong financial support of thousands of people and my GOP colleagues, great candidates across the map, and an optimistic agenda, Republicans are one step closer to bringing back the Senate this fall, but there is still work to be done.”
The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has yet to release its March fundraising totals but it has been outpacing their GOP counterpart in recent months. The DSCC had $18.1 million cash on hand and $1.2 million in debt as of the end of February.
