AFP knocks Kuster, thanks Gardner in new ads

A major GOP outside group backed by the Koch brothers is launching two new ads, one boosting the Republican candidate in the Colorado Senate race and another attacking a New Hampshire Democrat on ObamaCare.

{mosads}Americans for Prosperity is investing a little over $100,000 on an ad to run for the next 10 days, thanking Rep. Cory Gardner (R-Colo.) for his support for the Keystone XL pipeline project, among other things.

“He’s focused on spending less and spending smarter and voted to balance the budget. And Cory stood against ObamaCare and for real healthcare reform. Thank Congressman Gardner for fighting for common-sense solutions for Colorado,” a narrator says in the ad.

AFP is also airing an ad hitting freshman Rep. Ann McLane Kuster (D-N.H.) on ObamaCare, backed by a $650,000 buy.

“ObamaCare is hurting us, yet Congresswoman Ann McLane Kuster defends ObamaCare, promising ‘patience is a virtue,’ ” that ad’s narrator says.

The narrator says ObamaCare has caused a reduction in choice and access to fewer hospitals, and urges viewers, “tell Congresswoman Kuster: ObamaCare isn’t working, and our patience is gone.”

The conservative group, with backing from billionaires Charles and David Koch, has aired multiple ads in both Colorado and New Hampshire, targeting both House and Senate races there. In Colorado, Republicans are optimistic about their chances against Sen. Mark Udall (D) with Gardner in the race; in New Hampshire, Republicans see both Kuster and Rep. Carol Shea-Porter’s (D) seats as top pickup opportunities.

They’ve also run ads targeting Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D), who’s potentially facing a tough challenge former Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.), on ObamaCare.
