Young people worldwide join in on ‘March for Our Lives’ demonstrations
As thousands of American students prepared to march Saturday on Washington, D.C., to call for gun control and school safety measures, young people across the globe demonstrated in solidarity.
The “March for Our Lives,” organized by student survivors of the school shooting at a Florida high school last month, is expected to draw more than 500,000 people to D.C. on Saturday. More than 800 sibling marches were planned across the country and in cities around the world.

The official Twitter account of the movement shared photos from international marches, where thousands of young people expressed their support for the movement in different time zones.
In a photo of the “March for Our Lives” in Frankfurt, Germany, one protester’s sign pointed out the discrepancy in shooting frequency in the two nations.
“Four school shootings in the last month in the USA, in the last 100 years in Germany,” the sign read. “Laws matter.”
