Parkland, Fla., shooting survivors Emma González, David Hogg and Cameron Kasky were among those who responded Friday to the deadly shooting at a southeast Texas high school, with González saying in a tweet that the students deserve more than “thoughts and prayers.”

González tweeted hours after a shooter opened fire at Santa Fe High School near Houston. At least nine people have died and several more are injured, including one law enforcement officer, according to reports.

“Santa Fe High, you didn’t deserve this,” González tweeted. “You deserve peace all your lives, not just after a tombstone saying that is put over you.”

Many of González’s fellow Parkland shooting survivors also responded, with some delivering harsh criticism of politicians.

Several of the students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in South Florida have become vocal proponents of the gun control movement nationwide since the shooting in February that left 17 dead.
