Sen. Warren ‘hottest’ politician in country?

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) ranks as the “hottest” politician in a new Quinnipiac poll, even though many people do not know enough about her to form an opinion. 

Warren garners a 48.6 score on Quinnipiac’s “feeling thermometer”, however, 46 percent of the public does not know enough about the freshman senator to form an opinion. 

{mosads}She is trailed closely behind by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.).

The survey measured the public’s receptiveness to a number of political leaders using a scale from zero to 100, with the higher number representing “the warmer or more favorable” voters felt about a lawmaker. 

Clinton receives a 47.8 on the scale, while Ryan pulls in a 47.4.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) fell to ninth place in the poll after leading the field the last two times the polling firm tested the question. After the George Washington Bridge scandal engulfed his administration, his rating stands at 45.2, down from 55.5 in January. 

Other Republicans ahead of him include Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (47.1), Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (46.6), Florida Sen. Marco Rubio (46.3), former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (46.1) and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul (45.7).

Among Republicans, Walker has the highest rating with 69.6. However, 51 percent of Republicans don’t know enough about him to give an answer. He is trailed by Huckabee with a score of 67.6. 

On the Democratic side, Clinton tops the list with a 78.7 rating, followed by Vice President Biden with a rating of 65.7. Among Democrats, Warren receives a rating of 63.9.

The poll surveyed 1,578 registered voters and has a margin of error of 2.5 percent.
