Top Donald Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway says it is “doubtful” that the president-elect will collect a salary from being executive producer on “Celebrity Apprentice,” noting that he is foregoing most of his White House salary.

{mosads}During a Friday interview with CNN’s “New Day,” Conway said Trump is still consulting with ethics experts to determine whether it would be proper to stay on as executive producer of the NBC reality show he used to host.

“He’s a very transparent guy. Everyone can see what he’s doing,” she said. “And the fact is that he’s conferring with all types of experts to tell him what he’s allowed to do and not to do as the president of the United States, and if this is one of the approved activities, perhaps he’ll consider staying on.”

Trump has said that he will only take one dollar in White House salary.

Pressed on whether being an executive producer would distract from the more important role of being president, Conway compared it to President Obama’s frequent golfing trips.

“Okay, but were we so concerned about the hours and hours and hours spent on the golf course of the current president?” Conway said.

“I mean, presidents have a right to do things in their spare time or their leisure time, I mean nobody objects to that.”
