Warren reads middle school students’ letters on climate change

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) on Saturday shared a video responding to a series of letters on climate change from a class of middle school students, promising to fight for their future.

“I get lots of letters … and this week I got this really thick stack of letters from Mrs. Shields’s seventh grade science class from Clarke Middle School, which is right outside Boston. Each student was asked to write an essay on why they care or don’t care about climate change,” Warren said.

“No big surprise, our kids care deeply about climate change,” Warren said before reading off the topics of different students’ letters.

{mosads}Warren, a strong advocate for more environmentally friendly policies, doubled down on calls for better regulations in her video. And she pledged to fight for the students.

“So, to the children of Clarke Middle School and to every child, I want you to know your voices are being heard right here in Washington,” Warren said. “I’m fighting for you, I’m fighting for your families and I’m fighting so you’ll have a better future.”

Her announcement comes as hundreds join the Climate March in Washington and at sister marches across the country.
