President Trump lashed out at an appeals court decision on Thursday rejecting his administration’s case to reinstate his travel ban, calling the ruling “a political decision.”

“SEE YOU IN COURT, THE SECURITY OF OUR NATION IS AT STAKE!” Trump wrote on Twitter.
Trump moments later spoke to reporters in the West Wing, calling the ruling “a political decision” and reiterating his vow to “see them in court,” according to NBC News.

He said he hadn’t conferred yet with his new attorney general, Jeff Sessions, but predicted the administration would ultimately prevail in restoring the temporary ban on people from seven mainly Muslim nations from entering the U.S.

“No this is just a decision that came down but we’re gonna win the case,” he said. “It’s a decision we will win, in my opinion, very easily.”

The president responded minutes after a three-judge panel of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals unanimously denied his administration’s request to lift a court order blocking the travel ban.

The White House not yet said what its next step will be in the legal battle over Trump’s executive order. Trump has previously said the legal fight over the policy could end up at the Supreme Court.

A spokesperson for the Department of Justice said Thursday it is “reviewing the decision and considering its options.”

The Trump administration could appeal to the full Ninth Circuit or the Supreme Court in an effort to lift the Seattle-based federal judge’s order placing his policy on hold.

Or it could wait and allow the District Court to decide the lawsuit against the executive order on the merits.
