Trump: NFL must change or its ‘business is going to go to hell’
President Trump said Wednesday that the NFL must change or its “business is going to go to hell.”
Trump told reporters outside the White House that the NFL was “in a really bad box” and took aim at the league’s ratings.
“In my opinion the NFL has to change or you know what’s going to happen, their business is going to go to hell,” he said, adding that “the fans agree” with his comments.

He also repeated his attacks on NFL players who kneel during the national anthem, saying they should “find better places” to protest during a game.
“We have to show respect for our national anthem, our flag, our country and there are plenty of places where you can do it,” Trump said.
“And personally when they’re protesting during the fall game I think they can find better places, but they cannot do it during the national anthem,” he said.
Trump set off a firestorm last week when he called for NFL owners to fire players who kneel during the national anthem.
He also said that people should walk out of games where they see players kneeling during the anthem.
NFL players responded with their own criticism of Trump and with more players protesting during the anthem, including three teams that remained off the field altogether.
