Trump claims credit for stock market’s success: ‘I’ve always been great with money’
President Trump appeared to take credit for the stock market’s success on Saturday.
Trump told reporters on Air Force One that “the reason our stock market is so successful is because of me,” according to a pool report.
“I’ve always been great with money, I’ve always been great with jobs, that’s what I do. And I’ve done it well, I’ve done it really well, much better than people understand and they understand I’ve done well,” he said.
Trump has continuously tweeted out reports about the success of the stock market and bragged about the strength of the economy since he took office.
“Unemployment is down to 4.1%, lowest in 17 years. 1.5 million new jobs created since I took office. Highest stock Market ever, up $5.4 trill,” he tweeted earlier Saturday.

Trump made the remarks while answering a question about how he wants China to view the U.S. by the end of the trip.
“Well I think he’s viewing us very, very strong, and also very friendly. But we have to do better with trade with China, because it’s a one-way street right now and it has been for many years,” Trump said. “And we will.”
