Trump pauses Asia speech for water
President Trump on Wednesday stopped his speech recapping his Asia trip to take a sip of water.
Just more than 10 minutes into his speech at the White House, Trump abruptly paused and looked under his lectern for water.
“Thank you. They don’t have water. That’s OK,” he said.
Reporters then pointed to a small table next to the lectern. “To your right, sir,” one reporter said.
He turned to the side, picked up a bottle of Fiji water with both hands and took a sip. {mosads}
Trump then continued recapping his visits to Japan and South Korea, praising the governments there for their cooperation against North Korea and on trade.
Minutes later, he stopped to take a second sip of water.
Trump spoke after a grueling, five-nation Asia trip that spanned nearly two weeks. His delivered remarks for more than 23 minutes in the Diplomatic Room of the White House.
The moment with the water bottle was reminiscent of Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) sipping water during his 2013 response to the State of the Union.
At the time, Trump gave Rubio grief for his water break.
“Next time Marco Rubio should drink his water from a glass as opposed to a bottle—would have much less negative impact,” he tweeted.

He later used the moment to mock Rubio while on the campaign trail when the two were rivals for the Republican nomination.
