Trump tweets about Fox News segment on minority unemployment
President Trump on Monday tweeted about the African-American and Hispanic unemployment rates about an hour after “Fox & Friends” ran a segment on new unemployment statistics.
“African American unemployment is the lowest ever recorded in our country,” Trump wrote on Twitter.
“The Hispanic unemployment rate dropped a full point in the last year and is close to the lowest in recorded history. Dems did nothing for you but get your vote! #NeverForget @foxandfriends,” the president added.

A Saturday report in The Associated Press included new numbers that showed that the African-American unemployment rate reached a record low in December, at 6.8 percent. Trump had touted this number over the weekend on Twitter, saying he was “so happy.”

“The African American unemployment rate fell to 6.8%, the lowest rate in 45 years. I am so happy about this News! And, in the Washington Post (of all places), headline states, ‘Trumps first year jobs numbers were very, very good,’ ” the president said.
Trump’s Monday morning tweet came after Fox & Friends ran a segment on the unemployment rate in the 8 a.m. hour of its broadcast. The show used the numbers to argue that Trump is delivering on a campaign line directed at the African-American community in which he asked, “What do you have to lose?”
Trump often promotes unemployment and stock market numbers to make the case for his administration’s success.
The latest tweet comes after Axios reported Sunday that Trump is beginning his days typically around 11 a.m. likely to provide more time for the president to be on Twitter and watch television.
