WH: Trump’s physical won’t include psychiatric evaluation

President Trump’s physical exam this week will not include a psychiatric evaluation, the White House said Monday. 

“No,” White House spokesman Hogan Gidley told reporters on Air Force One who asked whether Trump will undergo a psychiatric exam. 

Gidley would not expand on what the exam will involve. The White House has said that physician Rear Adm. Ronny Jackson will issue a public report on the results. {mosads}

Trump, 71, is scheduled to undergo a routine physical exam at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center outside Washington, D.C. 

The checkup comes amid swirling questions about whether Trump is mentally fit to serve as commander in chief following a bombshell book that portrays chaos in his White House.

The president has hit back at critics, tweeting on Saturday that he is a “very stable genius” who is “like, really smart.” 

“He’s sharp as a tack. He is a workhorse, and he demands his staff to be the same way,” Gidley said. 

Most modern presidents have undergone routine physical exams with military doctors and released the results to the public. 

The public report usually contains brief details about the president’s physical health and notes about any health problems.
