Navy Rear Adm. Ronny Jackson, President Trump’s pick to become the next Veterans Affairs (VA) Secretary, got drunk and banged on the hotel room door of a female employee during an overseas trip in 2015, CNN reported

The Secret Service intervened after Jackson’s actions became so loud that agents worried he would wake up then-President Obama, according to CNN.

The incident made the female employee uncomfortable, and one former staffer told CNN that it was “definitely inappropriate, in the middle of the night.”

The account of the incident comes as Jackson faces a number of allegations of inappropriate conduct, including that he drank on the job, overprescribed drugs and created a hostile work environment.

Neither the White House nor the Secret Service responded to CNN’s requests for comment.

Jackson has worked as the official White House doctor for the past three presidents, including Trump, Obama and former President George W. Bush.

Sen. Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) told CNN that he had spoke to Jackson, who denied the misconduct allegations.

The Senate on Monday delayed Jackson’s confirmation hearing after top lawmakers on both sides of the aisle raised questions about his qualifications for the job and stewardship of the White House’s medical staff.

Jackson was set to appear this week before the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee.
