Omarosa claims she ‘absolutely’ has more recordings

Former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman on Monday said she “absolutely” has more tapes, adding she does not know when she will release them.

She said she is holding off on releasing them for now because she believes the White House could take legal action against her.

{mosads}”They’ve been threatening legal action,” she said on NBC’s “Velshi & Ruhle,” apparently referring to the White House. “They’re trying to figure out how to stop me.  They’re trying to penalize me because I would not accept the $15,000 a month deal that they offered me for the fake job on the Trump campaign.”

“So I’m expecting that they’re going to retaliate,” she continued. “And so, I’m just going to stand back and wait.”

Manigault Newman in recent days released two audio recordings from her time at the White House. In the first, which she claims she secretly recorded in the Situation Room, White House chief of staff John Kelly can be heard firing her

In the second, Trump can be heard in a private phone call telling her he did not know she had been fired. He also suggested he was unhappy with the firing.

The White House has sought to distance itself from Manigault Newman, with multiple officials slamming her as a dishonest former employee. They have particularly faulted her for secretly recording the conversation with Kelly in the Situation Room.

“The very idea a staff member would sneak a recording device into the White House Situation Room shows a blatant disregard for our national security — and then to brag about it on national television further proves the lack of character and integrity of this disgruntled former White House employee,” White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement on Sunday.

Manigault Newman, who is on a media tour to promote her explosive new book “Unhinged: An Insider’s Account of the Trump White House,” on Monday claimed the president himself tapes people in the White House.

“The president talked often … about how important it was to tape your enemies and to make sure that you had information on your enemies,” she also said on the NBC show.

Trump on Monday slammed Manigault Newman in a series of tweets as a “lowlife” and “not smart.”

Manigault Newman on NBC implied the sentiments were racist.

“You know, I think it’s sad that with all the things that’s going on in the country that he would take time out to insult me and to insult my intelligence,” Manigault Newman said. “This is his pattern with African-Americans, and he doesn’t know how to control himself.”

Trump last week insulted the intelligence of NBA superstar LeBron James and CNN anchor Don Lemon, both of whom are black men.
