Trump records robocall for Luther Strange

President Trump recorded a robocall for Sen. Luther Strange (R-Ala.) ahead of an Alabama GOP special election primary for Senate.

In the robocall, Trump urges those in the state to go out and vote for Strange in Tuesday’s primary.

“It is so important that you do,” Trump says in the recording.

“We‘ve fulfilled so many of our promises, everything we’ve wanted to do, we’re doing.”

The president touted his record, saying unemployment is at a record low and jobs are flowing back into the country.

“We are doing things a lot of people said were impossible, but I need Luther to help us out,” Trump says in the robocall, urging people to get out to the polls.

“He is helping me in the Senate and is going to get the tax cuts for us. He’s doing a lot of things for the people of Alabama and for the people of The United States.”

Strange in a statement called it an “honor” to work with the president.

“President Trump’s endorsement and kind words speak volumes about his trust in my leadership in the United States Senate,” he said.

“It is an honor to work with him to make America great again.”

Trump earlier this month endorsed Strange, a former state attorney general who was appointed by then-Gov. Robert Bentley to temporarily fill Attorney General Jeff Sessions’s seat.

On Monday, Trump he also took to Twitter to praise the senator.

“Luther Strange of the Great State of Alabama has my endorsement. He is strong on Border & Wall, the military, tax cuts & law enforcement,” Trump tweeted.

A recent poll showed Strange trailing former Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore in the GOP primary race.
