Trump digital director to meet with House Intelligence Committee
The data and digital director for Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign announced Friday that he has accepted a request to speak before the House Intelligence Committee later this month as part of its ongoing investigation into Russian election interference.
Brad Parscale tweeted a statement Friday saying that he is “unaware of any Russian involvement” in data and digital operations during Trump’s bid for president, but said he would meet for a voluntary interview with the committee.

“The only collaboration I am aware of in the Trump digital campaign was with staff provided to the campaign by Facebook, Google and Twitter,” Parscale said in his statement. “Those experts in digital marketing worked side-by-side with out teams from Giles-Parscale, the Republican National Committee and Cambridge Analytica to run a professional and winning campaign.”

Committee members have said that they plan to look into the use of “fake news” and whether the Trump campaign helped distribute such information.
“We are very interested in finding out whether there was an effort to make use of data analytics — whether there was Russian funding or support for that, or Russian assistance in any way with gathering data that could be used by the campaign or any associates of the campaign,” top Intelligence Committee Democrat Adam Schiff (Calif.) said last month in an interview on MSNBC.
United States intelligence officials have determined that Russia attempted to meddle in the election through hacks of the Democratic National Committee and the spread of “fake news.”
