MSNBC to cut ties with Sam Seder after Polanski rape joke resurfaces
MSNBC has opted not to renew its contract with contributor Sam Seder after one of his old tweet’s resurfaced in which he joked about director Roman Polanski raping his daughter.
Seder’s contract ends in February, and he has no scheduled appearances between now and then, TheWrap reported Monday.
A source told TheWrap that the decision to cut ties with Seder was related to the Polanksi tweet.

“Don’t care re Polanski, but I hope if my daughter is ever raped it is by an older truly talented man w/ a great sense of mise en scene,” Seder wrote in a since deleted tweet in 2009.
Polanski was arrested and charged in 1977 with raping a 13-year-old girl. He took a plea bargain that included pleading guilty to lesser charges but fled the U.S. when he learned he likely faced jail time. Polanski has lived in Europe ever since.
Right-wing activist Mike Cernovich referenced Seder’s comment on Twitter last month, asking why the media was ignoring it.
Seder said on his podcast last week that Cernovich was leading a smear campaign in an effort to drown out his criticism of President Trump and Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore.
The tweet was intended to be satirical, Seder said.
