Google planning tools for energy power sector
Google is planning to dive further into the energy sector by developing tools that will help utilities deliver electricity to homes and businesses more efficiently.
The internet giant is in the early stages of creating the software, and hardware tools that would manage power lines, and other infrastructure, according to people with knowledge of the matter, Bloomberg News reports.
{mosads}Google is researching ways it might help the century-old utility industry transition along with energy sources in the U.S.
“They recognize there is a huge wide-open space and that the utility companies are not stepping up to the plate,” Steven Chu, former secretary of the Energy Department told Bloomberg News last month.
