Al Gore taps celebrity power to push climate action

Former Vice President Al Gore kicked off an annual 24-hour broadcast on Tuesday dedicated to climate change action, and he’s bringing out the star power.

Gore was joined my actor Mark Ruffalo in a one-on-one about climate change action to launch the event.

{mosads}The broadcast will also feature singer Jason Mraz, actor Bradley Whitford, and others will tackle conversations on renewables, the eclectic grid, U.S. regulations on coal-fired power plants and more.

White House adviser to the president John Podesta will also join the conversation live during the last few hours of the event.

World Bank president Jim Yong Ki will also join to talk about why he is optimistic about policies tackling climate change.

The broadcast comes ahead of the United Nations cliamte ummit, which is meant to build momentum for the Paris 2015 talks and a global climate treaty.
