Trump: I’ll replace ObamaCare with ‘something terrific’

Billionaire businessman Donald Trump on Wednesday offered a glimpse into his presidential platform on healthcare, saying he would replace ObamaCare with “something terrific.”

“It’s gotta go,” Trump said of ObamaCare in an interview Wednesday with CNN. “Repeal and replace with something terrific.”

When pressed on specifics, Trump said the country’s healthcare system should rely on private health plans that are largely unregulated by the government.

“Other than that, it’s private.”

Trump – who once supported a nationalized, single-payer system – said he would also have a plan to help poorer Americans who can’t afford insurance. But again, he had few specifics.

“At the lower end, where people have no money, I want to try and help those people,” he said, adding that he would “work out some sort of a really smart deal with hospitals across the country” to cover the costs of care.
