Trump should win Nobel prize: South Korea president

South Korean President Moon Jae-in reportedly said President Trump should receive the Nobel Peace Prize for his work brokering peace between North Korea and South Korea.

“President Trump should win the Nobel Peace Prize. What we need is only peace,” Moon told other South Korean officials, according to Reuters.

{mosads}Moon last week met with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, who for the first time crossed into South Korea.

North Korea reportedly said at the meeting it would give up its nuclear weapons program should the United States vow it won’t invade.

Trump on Friday praised the meeting between North and South Korea, saying “good things are happening.” 

“After a furious year of missile launches and Nuclear testing, a historic meeting between North and South Korea is now taking place. Good things are happening, but only time will tell!” Trump wrote on Twitter.

“KOREAN WAR TO END! The United States, and all of its GREAT people, should be very proud of what is now taking place in Korea!” 

Trump is gearing up for his own meeting with Kim in the coming weeks, though the White House has yet to announce a time or place for the summit.
