Democrat uses ‘Game Change’ to slam Sarah Palin
{mosads}Based on the bestselling book by John Heilemann and Mark Halperin, “Game Change” recounts the 2008 presidential race that led to the election of President Obama. The film focuses largely on divisive Republican vice presidential candidate Palin and the hardship she faced during the election process.
Critics of the film, including Palin and 2008 GOP presidential nominee Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), claim it takes liberties with the truth. Palin said the film has a “false narrative” and encouraged people not to watch it.
Steve Schmidt — portrayed in the film by Woody Harrelson — who was the chief campaign strategist for Palin and her running mate McCain, found the film “highly credible,” according to the Los Angeles Times. Schmidt also told MSNBC on Monday that “the notion of Sarah Palin being president of the United States is something that frightens me, frankly.”
This is not the first time Connolly has given his two cents on a recent Hollywood release through Twitter. The Hill’s Twitter Room also caught him dishing on the George Clooney political drama, “The Ides of March” in October.
