Democrat Heitkamp and Republican Rep. Berg nearly even in fundraising

That brings Heitkamp’s fundraising total this cycle to more than $3.7 million, and Berg’s to almost $5.8 million.

{mosads}Berg reported more than $1.5 million cash on hand for the final three weeks of the cycle, but Heitkamp has not yet posted her cash-on-hand total. At the end of the last reporting cycle, Heitkamp faced a substantial cash-on-hand deficit, and it remains to be seen whether she’s been able to shore up that disadvantage.

But Berg’s available cash on hand has shrunk from nearly $2.2 million at the end of June to the $1.5 million he posted on Monday.

Heitkamp’s campaign highlighted the more than $1 million that she raised from in-state donors — more than any other statewide Democratic candidate in history. Berg raised more than $1.5 from in-state contributors thus far.
