Report: Donilon tried to sidetrack Susan Rice with World Bank job
{mosads}Deputy National Security Advisor Anthony Blinken is also rumored to be in the mix to replace Donilon. Blinken previously served as Vice President Biden’s national security advisor.
Kerry and former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright were also favorites to replace former U.S. Trade Representative Robert Zoellick at the World Bank, Foreign Policy reports. In the end, Obama appointed Dartmouth College President Jim Yong Kim for the position, which has traditionally gone to an American while a European gets to head the International Monetary Fund.
