DOT reaches agreement with NJ Gov. Christie to return tunnel funds
{mosads}LaHood said some of the money New Jersey would return came from the 2009 economic stimulus package and would be returned to the federal treasury. Other parts of the money, about $51 million were given in the form of grants to New Jersey, LaHood said, and that money will be distributed to other states.
Transportation advocates in New Jersey had been seeking the ARC tunnel for about 20 years.
