First water bill hearing scheduled for Thursday
{mosads}The bill will be the House’s first attempt to pass a major piece of transportation legislation since a funding bill for the departments of Transportation and Housing was pulled from the floor in July.
The Senate has already begun moving its own version of the water resources bill.
Leaders in both chambers say they hope to authorize new funding for waterways projects before the end of the year.
If supporters are successful, the new WRRDA bill would be the first water legislation passed by Congress since 2008.
